AI Search Visibility Auditor

Runs the questions a real buyer would ask an AI assistant for your product category, then checks whether your company actually shows up in the results — and how you compare to competitors who do.

About this case study

Problem: a company can rank well in classic Google search and still be invisible when a buyer asks an AI assistant like ChatGPT or Perplexity for a recommendation — because the sources those answers draw on aren't the same as Google's top results. This tool is a direct extension of a piece I wrote on Medium about exactly that shift ("Google No Longer Decides What You Find in AI Search"). Approach: type in a company and its product category — Tavily runs a fixed set of searches phrased the way a real buyer would ask an AI assistant ("best {category} tools," "top {category} software 2026," and similar), never mentioning the company by name. The AI then checks only what actually came back: does the company appear, how prominently, and which competitors show up instead with concrete, specific descriptions versus generic ones. If nothing relevant turns up for the category, it says so honestly rather than guessing. Result: type in any real company and category above and get back a visibility verdict, the competitors actually visible in that sample, and 2-3 recommendations grounded in the same principles as the article — concrete extractable facts, first-party source authority, and structured content — not generic SEO advice.

Methodology Note

Runs a fixed set of real web searches phrased the way a buyer would ask an AI assistant for category recommendations — never mentioning your company by name. If nothing relevant comes back for the category, the audit says so honestly instead of guessing.
